Most people that have full time jobs know what this is all about. If you’re sick, your employer may have the ability to provide you with pay. Disability insurance can be used up for an hour or much more, depending on your illness and how much you’re allowed to take. Here’s a place with info on short term disability insurance for individuals.

What Happens When You Have a Sinus Infection?

on May 2nd, 2008 by Charles

I was sneezing throughout my younger years and didn’t know what hit me. My school nurse told me that I had a cold. During those days, nobody really doubted a school nurse. Her advice was highly trusted amongst the students. I would either have a stuffy nose or my nose would be draining like the pouring rain.

A few years later, I started to doubt what the school nurse told me. How could I be sneezing and wiping my nasal drip for so long?” I decided to get a second opinion from different nurse. This other school nurse confirmed that I was having symptoms of allergies.

My parents were clueless when it came to over-the-counter medicine. They ended up giving me something that made me drowsy throughout the day. I couldn’t believe that my teacher actually accused me of taking drugs (the kind that aren’t allowed at school) when in fact I was only taking allergy medication.

That’s how my past was and I still continue to suffer from allergies and anything sinus related, including sinus infections. Here are 2 types of sinusitis (sinus infections). Acute and chronic are the 2 kinds of sinus infections.

Here are the symptoms:

Acute Sinusitis Symptoms

* Headaches
* Mucus drainage down the back of the throat
* Fever is common
* Facial pain or soreness
* Pressure around the sinus cavities
* Nasal congestion
* Pain behind the eyes
* Nasal discharge
* Vision problems

Chronic Sinusitis Symptoms

* Chronic sore throat
* Pain below the eyes
* Pressure across or above your nasal passages
* Toothaches
* Prolonged headaches
* Chronic nasal discharge
* Bad breath
* Prolonged facial pain

When Will These Sinus Infection Problems End?

There’s man similarities between the 2 types of symptoms. The actual difference can be seen in the period of time for which symptoms will last. Acute sinus infections can last for several weeks. As for chronic sinus infections, these typically last for a much longer period of time.

Can I Use a Sinus Infection Treatment?

If your sinus infections aren’t severe, you can try over the counter medications to reduce some symptoms. Please consult with a medical professional if you feel that your symptoms are severe. I’m sure that you would want to avoid any potential side effects, wouldn’t you?
